Tasmanian Perpetual Trustees supports Breath of Fresh Air Festival

Focus on Tasmanian Film-Makers

Tasmanian Perpetual Trustees has partnered with the Launceston Film Society by supporting the innovative Breath of Fresh Air Film Festival - open to all Tasmanians to enjoy eight sessions of innovative and thought-provoking films.

The Breath of Fresh Air Festival focuses on the uniquely Tasmanian themes of environment, nature, innovation, youth, humour and positivity.

The Festival features a range of films and genres, including:

Dorjee Sun, a young Australian Entrepreneur, believes there's money to be made from protecting rainforests in Indonesia, saving the orangutan from extinction and making a real impact on climate change. Armed with a laptop and a backpack, he sets out across the globe to find investors in his carbon trading scheme. It is a battle against time. Achmadi, the palm oil farmer is ready to set fire to his land to plant more palm oil, and Lone's orangutan centre has reached crisis point with over 600 orangutans rescued from the fires.

Flickerfest - a selection of the best short films from around Australia and the world; Australia’s only Academy® accredited short film festival.

Girl with the Dragon Tattoo - the first of a trilogy of novels by the late Swedish writer Stieg Larsson that have become a worldwide publishing phenomenon. Director Niels Arden Oplev’s film version, with a box office of $100 million, has become the biggest grossing European film of 2009.
